FILM AND ENTERTAINMENT GRANT LEGISLATION

In August 2014, Governor Pat McCrory signed the 2014-15 state budget, which included the allocation for a $10 million film and entertainment grant program.  The program was established by Senate Bill 744, and accounts for productions to receive funds of up to 25% back of their qualified in-state spend.

In September 2015, Governor McCrory signed the 2015-16 state budget, House Bill 97, which included the allocation of $30 million to the film and entertainment grant as well as an additional $30 million allocation for the 2016-17 fiscal year.
